Permanent Makeup – cosmetic procedure similar to tattoo (permanent pigmentation of the skin).  Word MAKEUP in the name of this method is used because it mostly used to produce designs in order to eliminate daily makeup procedure. Most common applications are eyeliner, eyebrows enhancement and shape correction, to enhance the color of the lips or define outer lip lines. It can also be used to camouflage scars, add or remove beauty marks or imitate lost hair. There are few other names for permanent cosmetics: dermapigmentation, micropigmentation and cosmetic tattoo.

There are few medical conditions that call for cosmetic tattoo:

• instead of reconstructive surgery on the face or breast, to simulate natural pigmentation
